No confidence? Or, want to increase your level of confidence?
Yes, this sounds like an infomercial you might see at 2 o’clock in the morning, but the technique below will greatly strengthen confidence in almost everyone and build massive confidence in some … all in 30 days or less. Begin with a 10 day commitment. It’s been successful with elite athletes, kids in high school, executives in business, almost everyone who has completed it. It can work for you too! Here’s how …
Here’s how to increase your level of confidence. The 30 days to massive confidence technique:
If you do this precisely as recommended, you should start to notice a difference in the first 10 days. Reevaluate how this is working for you after 10 days and if you notice a slight improvement … continue the confidence building process.
Day 1.
- Remember a time you were confident. It could be from your childhood, teenage years or adult life. It could concern academics, a social activity, a game, athletics, a hobby — it doesn’t matter what you were doing, just that you were confident doing it; a time when your level of confidence was high.
- Record your confident memory. In a journal or place that’s dedicated to confident memories, record your memory. Include the situation and how you thought, acted and felt when your confidence level was high. Write as much detail as you can about how you experience confidence.
- Continue this until you can re-experience the feeling of confidence, even if it’s just a tiny bit of it. Some of you will experience a lot of the feeling of confidence while thinking about your confident memory, while others will experience only a little. As long as you bring back some of the feeling of confidence, you’ve stimulated that part of your brain that knows how to be confident. The more you stimulate it, the bigger and stronger your of confidence neural network becomes. What does it mean to make your confidence neural network stronger? Neuroscience has shown that we have neuroplasticity. We can both form new neurons in our brains (no matter what our age) and we can change how the neurons in our brains connect, thus create new thinking patterns. When you create new thinking patterns, you create a different emotional response to situations. You can create a confident thinking and emotional response to a situation you use to not feel confident in.
Day 2.
- Remember and record a new confident memory (like you did in day 1). You will now have two memories recorded.
- Reread and remember your first memory until you can bring back the feeling of confidence.
Day 3 – 10.
- Repeat the two steps of day 1. Remember and record a new memory each day.
- Reread and remember all the confident memories you have previously recorded. Bring back the feeling of confidence with each one. Every time you stimulate your confident neural network with a confident memory, it gets stronger. It’s like going to the gym and strengthening a muscle, the more exercises you do with that muscle, the bigger and stronger it becomes — except here, you’re working out the confidence neural network in your brain to make it bigger and stronger!
Day 11 – 30.
- Periodically record a new confident memory.
- Reread and remember at lease three of the confident memories you have previously recorded. Bring back the feeling of confidence with each one. Remember, every time you stimulate your confident neural network with a confident memory, it gets stronger. It’s like going to the gym and strengthening a muscle, the more repetitions you do with that muscle, the bigger and stronger it becomes — except here, you’re working out the confidence neural network in your brain to make it bigger and stronger!

Additional directions:
- Commit to build either general confidence, or confidence in something specific.
a. If you choose general confidence, use as many diverse memories as possible in your journaling.
b. If you choose to build specific confidence (e.g., speaking to groups, selling, standing up for yourself, etc.) choose the most specific memories you can. Let’s say you want to express your opinion more confidently, remember times when you have. You can include doing it with people and in situations you are comfortable with as well as with people and situations you weren’t. It’s easy to disclude times that weren’t challenging, but they are important to include. - Key in your commitment and how long you commit to – 10, 20 or 30 days in the leave a comment section below.
